Great to meet you!

I have been a psychotherapist for over 40 years, so have experience in working with people with a wide range of issues. I am best suited to work with those who wish to truly get to the bottom of their concerns, to resolve long-standing wounds, and to gain the insight and healing that will provide them with the perspective to face future challenges. I see people weekly, at a recurring day and time that belongs to you, in order to make maximize progress.

My approach to therapy

I want to get to know you! I believe that people are complicated, and it takes some time to fully figure out all the factors that contribute to an unresolved issue. My approach is relational. This means a couple of things: 1. The relationship between us is important; you need to feel heard and understood, and to trust that it is safe to say whatever you wish; 2. I believe most problems arise due to broken relationships (childhood neglect, discord in friendships and romantic relationships, struggles with children or coworkers, loss of relationships, etc.) and so resolving these concerns means examining these relationships closely to explore the beliefs and emotions involved, and to choose preferred alternatives.

What you can expect from me

I want you to tell me your story. Start anywhere, and tell me what you want me to know about you -- anything that is important to you. I believe that everything is connected, sort of like doing a jigsaw puzzle -- even the pieces that initially seem unimportant are essential to completing the picture. In subsequent sessions, we will explore those puzzle pieces in more detail, in order to understand them and their influence on you, and ultimately to decide if you wish to make changes.
