Great to meet you!

I am dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized psychiatric care that helps individuals improve their mental health and overall quality of life. My medical career began in Cuba, where I practiced as a physician for many years, gaining extensive clinical experience and developing a strong commitment to caring for patients with empathy and respect.

After moving to the United States, I became a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and later completed a Post-Master's Certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Over the past decade, I have worked in collaboration with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary mental health teams, providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing mental health conditions, managing medications, and supporting individuals throughout their recovery.

I believe that successful treatment begins with building a trusting relationship. I take time to listen carefully, understand each person's unique experiences, and create a supportive, judgment-free environment where clients feel comfortable discussing their concerns. Together, we develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans designed to meet each client's specific needs and goals.

I work with adolescents, adults, and older adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma-related disorders, insomnia, and other psychiatric conditions. My goal is to help clients manage their symptoms, strengthen their emotional well-being, improve their daily functioning, and achieve lasting, meaningful progress.

As a bilingual provider fluent in English and Spanish, I value cultural sensitivity and recognize the importance of respecting each client's background and personal experiences. I am committed to partnering with my clients through open communication, mutual trust, and compassionate care to support their journey toward emotional wellness and recovery.

My approach to therapy

I take a patient-centered approach to mental health care, focusing on understanding each individual's unique experiences, challenges, and goals. I believe that meaningful progress begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on empathy, trust, and mutual respect. My goal is to provide a welcoming, supportive environment where clients feel comfortable expressing themselves without fear of judgment.

I work collaboratively with each client to create a treatment plan that is tailored to their specific needs. Using evidence-based practices, I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, psychoeducation, and supportive counseling when appropriate. I also recognize the importance of addressing the emotional, physical, and social factors that influence mental health, allowing for a more comprehensive approach to care.

With over 10 years of experience in psychiatry, working closely with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary mental health teams, I have helped individuals manage a wide variety of conditions, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma-related disorders, insomnia, and other psychiatric illnesses.

My commitment is to empower clients by providing the education, support, and tools they need to better understand their mental health and make informed decisions about their treatment. Together, we will work toward reducing symptoms, improving emotional well-being, enhancing daily functioning, and achieving long-term recovery and a better quality of life.

What you can expect from me

The first session is designed to help us establish a foundation for your care. It is a time for me to learn about your concerns, understand your personal story, and identify the challenges that have led you to seek treatment. My goal is to provide a comfortable and supportive environment where you feel respected, listened to, and free to speak openly.

During our appointment, we will discuss your emotional and physical health, past and current medical conditions, previous mental health treatment, medications, family history, and any other factors that may be influencing your well-being. This comprehensive evaluation allows me to gain a better understanding of your needs and develop the most appropriate treatment recommendations.

Before the session ends, we will review the findings together, discuss potential diagnoses when appropriate, and create a treatment plan tailored to your individual goals. This plan may include medication management, education about your condition, supportive counseling, healthy lifestyle strategies, or referrals to additional services if needed.

I want every client to leave the first appointment with a better understanding of their mental health, confidence in the treatment process, and the reassurance that they have a dedicated partner committed to helping them achieve lasting emotional wellness.
