Great to meet you!

Every person’s journey toward healing is unique, and I am dedicated to supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, and other emotional challenges. My name is Damaris E. Cordero, and I am a licensed clinical psychologist (PsyD) providing virtual therapy in English and Spanish. I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program and completed my APA-accredited internship and postdoctoral training within a hospital system in Pennsylvania, where I received training in both clinical and health psychology. I am currently licensed in Pennsylvania, Florida, and New York. My therapeutic approach incorporates evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness. I strive to create a compassionate, respectful, and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to work toward meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

What is your approach to therapy?

Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by depression, or struggling to move forward after difficult life experiences? You may find yourself overthinking, feeling emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from the life you want to live. You do not have to navigate these challenges alone.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, grief, and life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and goal-oriented, with an emphasis on helping you better understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop effective coping strategies, and move toward the life you value.

I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness, tailoring treatment to your individual needs, strengths, and values. Rather than focusing only on symptom reduction, I also help clients develop greater psychological flexibility, self-compassion, and confidence in responding to life’s challenges.

As a bilingual licensed psychologist, I provide therapy in both English and Spanish. I strive to create a welcoming and culturally responsive environment where you feel respected, understood, and comfortable being yourself. I recognize that culture, identity, relationships, and personal experiences can all influence mental health and the therapy process.

Whether you are seeking support for anxiety or depression, processing difficult experiences, navigating a significant life transition, or simply wanting to feel more connected to yourself and your life, therapy can provide a supportive space to explore what matters most and develop meaningful strategies for moving forward.

What you can expect from me

The first few sessions are focused on building a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, collaboration, and understanding. Together, we will explore your concerns, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and establish meaningful goals that align with your values and the life you want to create. As therapy progresses, you will develop practical skills to manage difficult emotions, navigate life's challenges with greater confidence, and build lasting emotional resilience. I integrate evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness, tailoring each session to your unique needs and strengths. Because I specialize in virtual therapy, you can access high-quality psychological care from the comfort and privacy of your own space. My goal is to help you feel supported, empowered, and equipped with the tools to create meaningful, lasting change.
