Great to meet you!

I’m a Clinical Psychologist and have been in private practice for over 38 years. I work with adults, adolescents and couples. My education/training includes a PhD in Clinical Psychology and an advanced degree in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis from NYU’s Postdoctoral Program. Along the way, I have gained extensive experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the various Mindfulness Based Therapies, as well as wide ranging experience in helping those struggling with alcohol and drug dependence.

My approach to therapy

With a direct and collaborative approach, I work to create a trusting environment that fosters the curiosity essential for personal growth and well-being. I recognize that exploring uncomfortable thoughts and feelings can be difficult but, at the same time, it is often necessary to face these feelings directly in order to gain the insight necessary for personal growth. I am considered as someone who puts people at ease, providing a safe space for exploring uncomfortable thoughts and feelings.

What you can expect from me

Through working collaboratively with my clients, along with my open, direct and empathic approach, my clients learn to navigate uncomfortable areas of their lives and deepen their understanding of themselves and others. Clients report that feel supported and empowered to make positive changes in their lives. They develop a greater sense of self-acceptance and better able to recognize counter productive patterns of thinking before developing into deeper, negative moods.
