Great to meet you!

As you get to know me as a therapist, you will find that my faith is the foundation of my worldview, however, I never push it on others. My family is also what I value most in this world. My husband is a combat veteran who lives with PTSD, which means I live with it also and am familiar with his struggles. We suffered pregnancy loss and infertility, but we were blessed with a miracle rainbow child 7 years ago. I have lost more people that most have at my age which has offered me a unique perspective and experience with grief. I mention these personal experiences so you know I'm a human trying to survive this world also and can relate to the curve balls it throws you. So, let's pick up a bat and start swinging! I'm here for teens to elderly, individuals and couples, to help navigate stress, adjustments, anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, you name it. I'm with you!

My approach to therapy

My view of therapy is walking alongside someone who is on a difficult journey, so you don't have to walk alone. I may point out a tree root or a hole in the ground, but it's up to you to decide what to do with that information. I support you on the path you're already on and do not challenge you to change your entire direction. I'm very laid back and these analogies come more often than not.

I utilize an eclectic style of therapy depending on what is needed and the client's preferences. I'm familiar with CBT, Gestalt, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy just to name a few. However, what you will mostly find is a laid-back conversation focused on you with some added perspective and encouragement sprinkled in.

What you can expect from me

Upon our first meeting, I ask a lot of questions that may seem random, but I promise my brain is connecting dots. I'm relatable and may share something about myself to help you feel at ease. My office is set up like a cozy living room, and we are just 2 people having a visit. I understand what it's like to sit in the client's seat, so I try to make it as comfortable as possible. I don't push further than what you are willing to share. It can be awkward talking about some topics with a complete stranger, but you will never find judgement coming from me. I do my best to understand your perspective.
