Great to meet you!

Hi! My name is Dana, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been working in the clinical world for about 12 years total, with populations including substance abuse recovery, trauma, couples and co-parenting, and women's issues. My biggest accomplishment in my work is the ability to be a safe landing place for my clients, while still providing direct, authentic, and honest care--sprinkled with some humor.

My approach to therapy

I primarily identify as a strengths based and Gestalt style practitioner. I enjoy bringing awareness to feelings and behaviors in the present moment, and providing realistic and honest feedback and support. I like to integrate other clinical approaches as needed, because all clients have different strengths, needs, and desires during their therapy journey. I enjoy teaching some concrete skills in CBT, DBT, or ACT approaches to help build coping skills as needed. My main goal is to meet my clients where they are at, and ensure they feel seen, heard, and cared for.

What you can expect from me

In a first session, expect some detailed questions so I can best understand and support you. I do like to make sure that my clients still feel cared for and heard despite all of the questions and information gathering, and maybe get a few laughs in to help ease you into the process. Following the initial session, expect to lead the way and bring your needs into session so that I can help you meet them in a way that feels right for you.
