Great to meet you!

I’m Dana Connor, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Somatic Therapist providing virtual therapy to adults and couples in Massachusetts and Colorado.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than a decade working in massage therapy and body-based practices. I later earned my B.A. in Psychology from Fort Lewis College and my Master of Social Work from the University of Denver, followed by advanced training in somatic therapy and post-traumatic growth.

Outside of therapy, I’m a real person with a love of movement, nature, travel, and getting outside whenever I can. I don’t believe therapists need to have life perfectly figured out. I do believe in showing up with curiosity, honesty, humor, and respect for the person sitting across from me.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded, direct, and collaborative. I work with people navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-esteem, and patterns that can feel difficult to understand or change.

My background in somatic therapy shapes the way I work. Rather than focusing only on thoughts and behaviors, we also pay attention to how stress, emotions, and past experiences show up in the body and nervous system. I integrate evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, ACT, attachment theory, polyvagal theory, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation based on each client’s needs.

What you can expect from me

I believe therapy should be a place where you can be honest, not a place where you have to perform, have the right language, or already know what you need. My role is to help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface, recognize patterns that may no longer be serving you, and develop practical ways to move forward.

My work is trauma-informed and inclusive of different identities, relationships, beliefs, and ways of living. For clients who want spirituality to be part of therapy, there is room for that too without it being assumed or imposed.
