Great to meet you!

As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable being yourself. I believe healing begins with a trusting therapeutic relationship built on empathy, collaboration, and genuine connection. My hope is to help you better understand your experiences, reconnect with your strengths, and find meaningful ways to move forward.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2017 and my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2020. As a veteran who has also worked with veterans at the VA, I bring both personal and professional insight into military culture and the unique challenges that can accompany military service.

I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, trauma, grief, and loss. I also support couples who want to improve communication, strengthen their connection, and build healthier relationships. I have a particular passion for helping individuals heal from trauma and loss, and my training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) allows me to offer specialized support for those processing distressing experiences.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially cheering on my son at his baseball games. I became a counselor because I believe in the power of human connection and the possibility of healing and growth, even through life's most difficult experiences. I would be honored to walk alongside you with compassion and care as you work toward greater resilience, emotional well-being, and peace.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is person-centered, collaborative, and compassionate. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship creates the foundation for meaningful change, and I strive to provide a safe and supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and accepted. I recognize that you are the expert on your own life, and my goal is to walk alongside you as you explore your experiences, build on your strengths, and find ways to move forward.

I draw from person-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and the Gottman Method for couples to tailor treatment to your unique needs. In individual therapy, we may explore emotional patterns, develop coping strategies, and work through challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. In couples therapy, I focus on strengthening communication, deepening emotional connection, and navigating conflict in healthier ways.

With training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I also support individuals processing traumatic experiences and distressing memories. Throughout our work together, we will move at a pace that feels right for you, with an emphasis on building resilience, strengthening self-understanding, and creating meaningful growth.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we will spend time getting to know one another and discussing what brings you to therapy. We will explore the concerns you would like to address, what you hope to gain from counseling, and what meaningful progress might look like for you. You do not need to have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin. We will take things one step at a time, at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I understand that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and I want your first session to feel like a welcoming opportunity to share your story and ask questions. We will begin identifying your priorities and discussing how therapy can best support your needs. There is no pressure to share more than you feel ready to share.

My hope is that you leave our first session with a clearer sense of what to expect from therapy and a feeling of encouragement about the path ahead. This is the beginning of a process we will navigate together, with room for your questions, goals, and needs along the way.
