Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Dana St Julien, MSW, LCSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges while building resilience, confidence, and emotional well-being. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work and have experience working in a variety of mental health settings, including outpatient therapy, intensive outpatient programs, partial hospitalization programs, community mental health, school social work, crisis intervention, and transitional housing services.

Throughout my career, I have worked with adolescents and adults facing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, trauma, grief, and other emotional and behavioral challenges. My goal is to provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.

At Serene Essence Counseling & Wellness LLC, I believe healing begins when individuals feel safe enough to be their authentic selves. My mission is to help clients gain new perspectives, develop healthy coping skills, and create meaningful change so they can live with greater confidence, purpose, and peace. My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and client-centered. I believe that each person is the expert on their own life, and I work alongside clients to help them identify strengths, overcome obstacles, and achieve their personal goals.

I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness techniques. I tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs, recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing.

I specialize in helping individuals manage anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, relationship concerns, emotional regulation, and trauma-related experiences. I am passionate about helping clients develop practical tools they can use in everyday life while gaining deeper insight into patterns that may be holding them back.

My style is transparent, supportive, and encouraging. I strive to create an environment where clients feel comfortable exploring difficult topics while being challenged to grow and move toward lasting change.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my primary goal is to get to know you and understand what brings you to therapy. We will discuss your current concerns, personal history, strengths, goals, and any challenges you are experiencing. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine whether we are a good fit to work together.

You can expect a welcoming, comfortable, and judgment-free environment where you are encouraged to share at your own pace. Together, we will begin identifying goals for therapy and developing a plan tailored to your unique needs and circumstances.

Many clients leave their first session feeling relieved, supported, and hopeful. My goal is for you to walk away with a greater sense of clarity, a different perspective on your situation, and confidence that you have a partner in your journey toward healing and growth.
