Great to meet you!

Hi and welcome! I am D’Andra, a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling Psychology. If you found this page, you’re likely considering therapy and looking for a good fit. Here’s what you should know: I like to think of therapy as a place where you can finally say what you’re really thinking... no side-eyes or polite nods required. I believe that speaking openly about mental health helps us connect more deeply with ourselves and with others. Maybe the fact that this hasn’t always been possible is part of what brought you here. In this space, therapy can become a corrective experience, a chance to be seen, heard, and understood in ways that feel safe and empowering.

Many individuals and couples get caught in patterns like people-pleasing, overworking, defensiveness, or relationship conflicts, without realizing how. This is sometimes called “survival mode.” Maybe you’ve spent years juggling school, work, family, and/or complex relationships, always keeping it together on the outside, while inside you feel exhausted, disconnected, or constantly putting others first.

I provide a supportive space for clients who want to break away from patterns that no longer serve them, reduce self-doubt, and move past emotional exhaustion.

My approach to therapy

I see therapy as a collaborative process. I work primarily with CBT, ACT, and attachment-based approaches to help you explore patterns, build awareness, and create lasting change. I’m trauma-informed, which means I understand how experiences like childhood adversity, emotional abuse, or relational trauma can affect your ongoing relationships, emotions, and sense of self. I also gently challenge patterns that no longer serve you, helping you recognize habits or coping strategies that may have kept you safe in the past but are now holding you back. Finally, I bring cultural humility to our work, recognizing how identity and systemic pressures shape mental health.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a “get to know you” meeting. I’ll provide important information about treatment, including confidentiality and policies, and gather details about your mental health, social, and medical history. This helps me get a fuller picture of you and the systems you exist in.

Time permitting, we’ll also discuss and collaborate on goals for therapy, and I’ll answer any questions you may have. My goal is to make this session informative, supportive, and a first step toward building a safe, collaborative space for your growth.
