Great to meet you!

I'm a licensed mental health counselor and PhD-level clinician — and while those credentials matter, what I want you to know is what I actually show up for in session. I work with adults who are carrying grief that doesn't have a clean beginning or end, navigating the disorientation of immigration or cultural displacement, or managing high-functioning professional lives while quietly struggling beneath the surface. I conduct therapy in both English and Arabic, and I have a particular understanding of what it means to move between worlds — culturally, professionally, or emotionally — without feeling fully at home in any of them. If that resonates, you're likely in the right place.

My approach to therapy

My approach is integrative and genuinely tailored to you — not a protocol I run everyone through. I draw primarily from psychodynamic and humanistic frameworks, which means we'll work together to understand the patterns beneath what's happening now, not just manage symptoms on the surface. I bring motivational interviewing into the mix when you're navigating ambivalence about change, and I bring a trauma-informed lens to everything. Culturally, I work from a place of curiosity and respect — I don't assume a one-size-fits-all model of wellness, and I won't pathologize experiences that are a reasonable response to unreasonable circumstances. Sessions are collaborative. You lead; I guide.

What you can expect from me

Expect a real conversation — not a clinical intake checklist. In our first session, I'll ask what brought you here and I'll listen carefully — not just for what you say, but for what feels hard to say. We'll talk about what you're hoping therapy can do for you, and I'll share some thoughts about how I might be able to help. There are no wrong answers and no performance required. By the end of the session, you'll have a clearer sense of whether working together feels right — and I'll be honest with you if I think someone else might be a better fit. The goal is to get you the right support, whatever that looks like.
