Great to meet you!

Choosing a psychiatrist is a deeply personal decision, and I don't take lightly the trust it requires. Being invited into someone's mental health journey is a profound privilege, and I strive to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. In addition to caring for patients, I conduct research on psychopharmacology and antidepressant tapering, including contributions to the Maudsley Deprescribing Guidelines and The Psychopharmacology Blue Book. My goal is to bring that same thoughtful, evidence-based approach into every conversation we have together.

My approach to therapy

I don't see medication and psychotherapy as separate treatments, but as complementary tools that work best when thoughtfully integrated. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), psychodynamic therapy, and Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), tailoring each approach to your individual needs. When medication is appropriate, I believe it should be chosen carefully, with clear goals, regular reassessment, and a treatment plan that can evolve as your needs change—not simply continued by default.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you—not just your symptoms, but your experiences, goals, and what you're hoping to change. We'll discuss your history, explore different treatment options together, and develop a plan that reflects your values and preferences. My goal is for you to leave with a clear understanding of your options, why I'm recommending a particular approach, and confidence in the path we're taking together.
