Great to meet you!

I am a board certified clinical social worker from Boston, Massachusetts who works with adult men of all ages, and provides care for patients who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, and OCD. My treatment approach is rooted in evidence-based practices with a focus on psychodynamic elements. Since graduating from Smith College with a masters degree in social work, I have worked in a community mental health clinic where I've established applying psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapies with a range of complex cases and environmental challenges.

Since graduating from a psychodynamically-focused social work program, I have worked exclusively in community mental health serving a wide range of individuals. In this work, I have provided psychotherapy to people from all walks of life with a wide range of ages, abilities, backgrounds, and diagnoses. My strengths include working with men who struggle with emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, and ADHD.

As a social worker, I believe that these kinds of problems never exist in a vacuum, and that exploring external factors such as financial challenges, relationships, family, technology, and childhood are crucial parts of making change.

My approach to therapy

Central to my approach is the belief that progress in therapy hinges on the relationship between therapist and client. Through this collaboration I utilize multiple theories and frameworks that give us the best language to set goals and make change. Frequently, I utilize cognitive behavior theories, exposure and response prevention therapy, psychodynamic theory, and systems theory to tailor the work to the needs of the client.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other! You can expect the chance to ask questions, and to tell me about what brings you to therapy in the first place. I find that it can be helpful in the first session to also explore your personal history with therapy and what your initial goals for our work might be.
