Great to meet you!

Daniel Ivey is the counselor who truly cares, holding two Master's in Mental Health Counseling and Divinity with a Bachelor's in Psychology, and is also a Board Certified Clinical Chaplain. An eclectic and challenging therapist, people state he is also warm and approachable, and infuses a broad array of resources and knowledge to help tailor each session to the unique individual, couple, or family.

My approach to therapy

Through my training as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Board Certified Clinical Chaplain and Spiritual Leader, with years in the Trauma Bay of the Emergency Department, experience with Hospice Care, and prior Pastoral work with all ages, I utilize a primarily Person Centered and CBT Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach to help you find your strength, solutions, and solace.

With a creative approach to each session, I will also lean upon the ancient wisdom, evidenced based treatment approaches, and honest feedback seeking your best solutions, to help untangle you from whatever circumstances are wrapping you up, or what past issues of old that are still with you today.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I hope that you will know that I am 100% here to support you and encourage you in whatever circumstances or situations you have found yourself in, and that I am here to help as best as I know how.

We will also collaborate together extensively in your plan of care and therapy. After all, this is your therapy, which also means that you are the one here required to also do your part of the work. What primarily is the work of therapy? For me, it is primarily showing up with care and compassion and hopefully a word of comfort that can help you solve your dilemma/s through extensive listening and honest feedback...

For you all I ask is to show up and show up honest. We will always go at your pace...but I am here to help.

It is my goal that by the end of our first session, you feel that I understand where you are coming from, you feel heard, and you feel that maybe just maybe there truly could be hope. We will work together to help identify where you are at on the map in life, so that we can judge and ascertain where to and how to get where you wish to go in life.

Many of your friends and family may have told you exactly how to solve your problems already, or maybe you even already know the A to Z solutions...but therapy is where the work of the Alphabet of Head and Heart become clear in a language you finally understand that just may inspire you to be able to take that next step.

Trust is earned and not given, and building a sense of connection or rapport is paramount and key to the work of therapy. It is in essence what bridges the gap to be able to access those recesses of the head and heart to be able to bring them to surface. It is often in this work that my clients find their own solution, and gain back the will and empowerment to carry that out.
