Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Daniel Michaels, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider. I work with teens and adults dealing with ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood concerns, emotional overwhelm, and patterns that keep showing up even when they are trying hard to change.

I’ve worked in inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings. That experience has shaped the way I work: practical, compassionate, and focused on helping people understand what is actually getting in the way rather than just telling them to “try harder.”

My approach to therapy

My style is active, thoughtful, and down-to-earth. I tend to draw from acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and practical skills-based work. In therapy, we may look at thoughts, emotions, avoidance, relationships, habits, and the ways you respond when life feels overwhelming.

With ADHD and neurodivergent clients, therapy is not about forcing yourself into systems that were not built for you. We work on understanding your patterns, reducing shame, and building strategies that are realistic for your brain and your life.

What you can expect from me

The first session is mostly about getting to know you and understanding what brought you in. We will talk about what has been going on, what you are hoping therapy can help with, and what has or has not worked in the past.

You do not need to come in with everything perfectly organized. We can sort through things together and start to identify what would make therapy feel useful for you.
