Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a background in clinical social work, behavioral health, care management, and service coordination. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with adults, children, and families facing a variety of mental health and life challenges.

My clinical experience includes assessing children with mental health and physical or medical needs and coordinating services with families, providers, and other professionals. I’ve also worked with individuals experiencing homelessness, including veterans, helping them connect with housing, healthcare, and community resources.

I have provided therapy to adults involved in court-mandated treatment, including individuals dealing with substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns. My experience has included helping clients work through substance use treatment, parenting requirements, domestic violence, and other challenges affecting their relationships and daily lives.

I believe therapy should be a place where you can be honest about what you’re going through without feeling judged. I’m straightforward, compassionate, and willing to have the conversations that can sometimes be difficult but important. I also believe therapy should be useful outside of the session—not just a place to talk about problems, but a place to learn how to handle them differently.

My approach is primarily based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). We can work on understanding patterns in your thoughts and behaviors, developing practical coping skills, and learning how to respond differently when difficult thoughts and emotions come up.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can start with what’s going on right now and work from there.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is primarily grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I focus on helping clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact and how those patterns can influence the way they respond to difficult situations.

With CBT, we can identify unhelpful thinking and behavioral patterns and work on developing more effective ways of responding. With ACT, I help clients learn to make room for difficult thoughts and emotions without allowing them to control their decisions, while focusing on the values and goals that matter most to them.

I believe therapy should be practical and connected to your everyday life. We will work together to identify what you want to change, what may be getting in the way, and what steps you can take between sessions. I am comfortable respectfully challenging clients when it can help them look at a situation differently, while also recognizing that change takes time.

My goal is not to tell you how you should think or live. It is to help you develop a better understanding of your patterns, build skills that you can actually use, and make choices that move you toward the life you want. I want our sessions to be a place where you can be honest, work through difficult situations, and leave with something you can take with you outside of therapy.

What you can expect from me

You can expect our sessions to be conversational, focused, and practical. I don't expect you to come into therapy knowing exactly what to say or having everything figured out. We can start with what's going on right now and work from there.

During a session, I'll listen, ask questions, and help you break down what's been difficult. Depending on what we're working on, we may look at thought patterns, behaviors, coping strategies, or situations that are creating problems in your day-to-day life. I may also give you something to think about or practice between sessions when it makes sense.

Some sessions may involve working through a specific problem, while others may focus more on understanding patterns or building skills. I also won't assume that every strategy works for every person. We'll figure out together what is useful for you and make adjustments along the way.

You can expect me to be honest and straightforward while still being supportive. If I think something may be keeping you stuck, I'll talk with you about it rather than simply agreeing with everything you say. At the same time, therapy isn't about being judged or being told what you "should" do. You're the one making the decisions about your life; my job is to help you look at things differently, build the skills to handle them, and move toward the changes you want.
