My name is Daniel Schreiter, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I am a dual service veteran, and I am passionate about continuing to serve veterans and their families. I am particularly good at working with trauma and addiction as they are both part of my own story in recovery. I am also passionate about working with couples and believe that healthy relationships are critical to healthy families and healthy lives.
Foundationally, my approach to counseling is rooted in Cognitive Behavior Therapy. More specifically, I primarily work within Choice Theory. I believe that this solution focused approach helps empower clients that have been lost to their traumatic past experiences and addiction. I am also deeply rooted in a humanistic approach to counseling and believe that clients ultimately heal themselves.
The environment that I create is warm and empowering. The goals that I set for my clients are specific to them and created on a case-by-case basis. Ultimately, my desire if for my clients to live their best life free from things that have previously been a burden to them.
