Great to meet you!

Hi! My name is Daniella Sylvester, and I founded Just H.O.P.E. to help others know that if they can 'Just Hold On, the Pain will End'. Throughout this journey, there will be moments when it feels difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you can hold on a little longer, the pain will eventually ease and pass. I know this is easier said than done, and I don't present it as if it's a simple walk in the park. That is why I will be honored to walk by your side, guiding and supporting you through each step as you work toward taking back control.

While I aspire to work with military service members, with the hope of improving the reintegration process to reduce suicide rates, I have experience working with individuals from diverse populations. Upon request, I also offer Christian-based counseling thoughtfully tailored to your faith, values, and personal needs, fostering spiritual growth alongside mental and emotional healing.

My approach to therapy

I strive to teach you how to take control of your mental health by providing you with personalized skills, realistic tools, and supportive resources tailored to your unique needs. I aim to educate you about your experiences and build lasting coping skills to support sustainable recovery. To help you better understand your struggles, I use psychoeducation so you can grasp the “why” behind your challenges to cope more effectively. To do that, I have two guiding mottos:

“To heal the wound, we first have to learn what that wound is before we treat it,” and “Give a man a fish and you’ll feed him for a day; teach him how to fish, and he'll eat for a lifetime.”

What you can expect from me

Reaching out and trusting a stranger is hard, but the process of working with me as your clinician shouldn't have to be. In a sense, you are interviewing me to see if I can help you with the challenges you're experiencing. So, during your initial session, we will explore your goals, needs, and expectations for what you hope to achieve while in treatment. I believe treatment is a collaboration between your expertise in how you are feeling and what you are experiencing, and my expertise in the clinical skills needed to aid you in meeting your goals. In your initial session, I hope to help you not only feel heard, but also help you take the next step in your healing journey.
