In our first session, we will focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about what you’re currently struggling with, your history, and what you hope to gain from therapy, but there is no pressure to share anything before you feel ready.
My priority is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel comfortable and heard. Many clients use the first session to begin making sense of what they’re experiencing and to start identifying goals for our work together. We will also talk about how therapy works, what you can expect from me, and answer any questions you may have about the process.
You can expect a collaborative approach where we begin building trust and outlining a direction for treatment at a pace that feels right for you. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling supported, understood, and clearer about next steps.
