Great to meet you!

My approach to therapy is active, practical, and solution-focused. While understanding your experiences is important, I believe therapy should move beyond simply talking about problems and help you develop concrete tools to create meaningful change. We will identify what is keeping you stuck, understand the patterns behind it, and develop strategies you can practice both in and outside of sessions. I value honesty, collaboration, and accountability, and I will both support and challenge you throughout the process. My goal is for you to leave therapy not only feeling heard, but better equipped to manage your emotions, relationships, and challenges independently.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic style is collaborative, direct, educational, and action-oriented. I frequently incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and choices. I also believe in helping clients understand what is happening in their bodies. Therapy with me involves more than the time we spend together in session; meaningful change requires practicing new skills, challenging old patterns, and following through between sessions. I will provide support, education, strategies, and accountability, but I also expect clients to be active participants in their own growth. Therapy can be hard work, but that work is where meaningful and lasting change can occur.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about getting clear on why you are coming to therapy and what you want to be different in your life. We will talk about what is currently happening, what is and is not working, and what changes you would like to see. Together, we will identify specific goals and discuss your expectations for therapy, as well as what you can expect from me as your clinician. I want therapy to have a purpose and direction, so we will begin developing a plan for how we can work toward your goals from the very beginning. You should leave the first session with a clearer understanding of what we are working on and where we are going.
