Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Danielle Dickson, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) providing telehealth therapy to adults throughout Colorado. I have experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, trauma, depression, chronic stress, burnout, emotional dysregulation, relationship challenges, chronic illness, and life transitions. My approach is grounded in evidence-based psychotherapy, with advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and certifications in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT).

I am passionate about creating a safe, collaborative, and compassionate environment where clients feel supported while doing the meaningful work of healing and personal growth. I believe therapy is about more than reducing symptoms, it's about understanding yourself. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in repetitive patterns, overwhelmed by their emotions, or frustrated that despite their best efforts, they continue to struggle. Together, we'll explore not only what you're experiencing, but why. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, strengthen your emotional resilience, and create lasting change that aligns with your values so you can move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and authenticity.

My approach to therapy

My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs rather than a one-size-fits-all model. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, neuroscience, and somatic awareness to help you understand how your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and nervous system work together.

I believe lasting change happens when we move beyond simply managing symptoms and begin understanding the patterns that created them. Together, we'll explore the beliefs, experiences, and coping strategies that have shaped your life while developing practical skills to help you navigate the present. My role isn't to tell you who you are—it's to help you know yourself, understand yourself, and create a life that reflects your values.

As your self-awareness grows, you'll be better equipped to respond intentionally instead of reacting from old survival patterns, creating meaningful change that aligns with your values. Therapy is always collaborative, and we'll work together to create a treatment plan that reflects your goals, values, and strengths.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a strong therapeutic foundation. We'll use a structured intake process to explore your current concerns, personal history, relationships, strengths, and goals while identifying the experiences and patterns that may be contributing to your challenges. You'll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions, and we'll discuss what you hope to achieve through therapy.

Many clients appreciate that I enjoy explaining how the brain, nervous system, trauma, and emotions work because understanding ourselves often reduces shame and empowers change. By the end of our first session, you'll have a clearer understanding of my approach, a personalized treatment plan, and a roadmap for how we'll work together to help you move toward greater healing, self-understanding, and lasting growth.
