Great to meet you!

I'm Danielle, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I provide strength-based care for individuals navigating complex mental health challenges, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, personality disorders, PTSD and trauma, schizophrenia and psychosis disorders, depression, anxiety, panic disorders, mood disorders, and bipolar conditions. My practice is built on the fundamental belief that every person possesses inherent strengths and resilience, even in the midst of significant mental health struggles.

I'm drawn to working with complex patients because I see beyond diagnoses to the remarkable individuals who are courageously managing multiple challenges. Whether you're neurodivergent, have a trauma history, experience personality disorder symptoms, or manage psychotic symptoms, I approach our work together with curiosity about your unique strengths and capabilities rather than focusing solely on deficits or problems.

My treatment philosophy centers on collaboration and empowerment. I believe you are the expert on your own experience, and my role is to provide clinical expertise, support, and guidance while honoring your autonomy and preferences. Together, we'll explore how your conditions impact your life, identify your existing coping skills and strengths, and build upon these foundations to develop new strategies for managing symptoms and achieving your goals. What sets my practice apart is treating the whole person. Mental health conditions don't exist in isolation—they affect your relationships, work, creativity, and life goals. My aim is to help you live a meaningful life that reflects your values, not just manage symptoms. I'm here to support your journey with compassion and clinical excellence. Let's work together toward healing.

My approach to therapy

I was drawn to psychiatry by a deep conviction that every person deserves attentive, high-quality mental health care. My approach keeps you at the center of every decision. I begin by truly listening, taking time to understand your story, your concerns, and what you most hope treatment will bring. You are never defined by your struggles; you are a whole person with real strengths, values, and remarkable potential.

My practice blends evidence-based psychiatric care with holistic wellness principles. While skilled in medication management, I equally value our partnership and nurturing, recovery-focused approaches. I share practical knowledge and resources throughout our work, so you leave each visit feeling informed, equipped, and confident in guiding your own wellbeing. Together we also explore how lifestyle, stress, relationships, and everyday coping shape your overall health.

I believe in open, honest communication: sharing my reasoning, laying out treatment options, and setting clear expectations. I remain committed to culturally responsive practice, recognizing that mental health and healing look different across communities. Your cultural background, beliefs, and lived experiences sit at the core of who you are, and I approach our relationship with lasting respect.

Healing rarely follows a straight path. I stay present through the difficult seasons and the meaningful milestones alike. Every step forward, however small, marks progress worth celebrating. Growth looks different for each person, and I honor it fully.

What matters most is a reliable, steady partner who believes in your capacity to grow and recover. When helpful, I welcome family, loved ones, and other providers into the process, because connection is a powerful force in healing. Above all, I am here for the long haul, a steady, dependable presence deeply invested in your path toward lasting wellness, resilience, and a life that feels genuinely your own.

What you can expect from me

Every first appointment begins with genuine curiosity and deep compassion. My primary aim is to truly understand you and what you actually need. I believe a strong working relationship is the essential foundation of meaningful treatment. I invite you to share your story in whatever way feels most natural, and I receive it with complete openness and without judgment.

Together we'll explore what's currently affecting your mental health, how long things have felt difficult, what has changed, and what ultimately moved you to seek support now. I'll ask about your prior treatment history, including any medications you've taken, so I can appreciate what has already been attempted and how your mind and body responded.

Your everyday life carries genuine significance in this process. We'll discuss your work environment, relationships, family dynamics, and financial pressures, because your mental health cannot be separated from the world you're living in and navigating each day.

Our conversation about medication will be thorough and direct. I'll explain how these medications work within the brain, present individualized options suited to your specific needs, and offer honest, realistic expectations about both benefits and potential side effects. I'll address concerns and misconceptions openly, so you feel fully informed and assured about every decision we reach together.

I follow a collaborative prescribing model, meaning your preferences and concerns actively shape our approach. We'll also examine non-medication strategies that complement clinical care, including regular movement, mindfulness practices, and improved sleep habits. I remain reachable between visits as well, ensuring you always have support when questions or worries surface.

You'll leave with a personalized care plan, clearly defined next steps, and the confidence of having a clinician sincerely invested in your ongoing progress and long-term wellbeing.
