About Danielle Koreny, DNP, PMHNP-BC

As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years in healthcare, I bring both extensive clinical expertise and genuine compassion to mental health treatment. My journey includes earning my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree while leading a hospital unit during the height of the COVID pandemic - a testament to my dedication and ability to thrive under pressure.

My approach integrates conventional psychiatric care with complementary techniques learned through the University of Arizona's Integrative Health program. I believe in treating the whole person, not just symptoms, creating personalized treatment plans that respect your unique needs and goals.

My areas of expertise include medication management for conditions like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, and psychosis. I also have experience assessing clients for advanced treatments like TMS, ketamine, and Spravato for treatment-resistant conditions.

Having worked across diverse settings—from crisis recovery to telehealth, from skilled nursing facilities to outpatient clinics—I've developed adaptability and comprehensive understanding of mental health challenges at various life stages. My experience leading multidisciplinary teams enhances my ability to coordinate care effectively.

What sets my practice apart is my commitment to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where we partner to improve your mental wellbeing. Understanding the challenges of our fragmented healthcare system firsthand, I strive to provide consistent, patient-centered care that empowers you with tools and treatments to live your fullest life.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My Approach to Care

I believe in collaborative, personalized mental healthcare that treats you as a whole person, not just a collection of symptoms. My integrative approach combines evidence-based medication management with attention to lifestyle, stress factors, and overall wellbeing.

Our work begins with a comprehensive assessment to understand your unique situation and goals. I take time to explain treatment options clearly, ensuring you're an informed partner in all decisions about your care.

My practice specializes in medication management for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, and psychosis. For treatment-resistant conditions, I evaluate appropriateness for advanced interventions like TMS, ketamine, and Spravato.

With training in integrative health from the University of Arizona, I incorporate complementary approaches when beneficial, including lifestyle modifications and stress management techniques.

Throughout our therapeutic relationship, I maintain a non-judgmental environment where you can speak honestly. I regularly reassess treatment effectiveness and adjust our approach based on your response and changing needs.

My goal is to empower you with the tools, medication, and support needed to achieve sustainable wellbeing and reclaim agency in your life. My commitment extends far beyond simply reducing symptoms—I'm here to help you build lasting wellbeing and develop practical skills for navigating life's challenges long after our sessions end.

What you can expect from our first session

What clients consistently tell me is that our sessions give them something they've been searching for: genuine hope backed by real expertise. I approach mental health care with both clinical precision and deep empathy, because I believe you deserve both. You'll gain a clear understanding of your mental health challenges—no confusing jargon, just honest conversations about what you're experiencing and why. We'll work together to find the right treatment approach, whether that includes medication, therapy techniques, or lifestyle changes. My goal is always to meet you where you are, not where I think you should be. You'll develop practical, actionable strategies for managing symptoms that actually fit into your real life. I'm not interested in cookie-cutter solutions—what works for one person might not work for another, and I take time to understand your unique needs. You'll leave knowing that someone is genuinely invested in your wellbeing and recovery. I believe in the power of medication when it's helpful, but I also believe in your own resilience and capacity for healing. We'll explore all your options together, and you'll always have the final say in your treatment decisions. You'll gain tools for managing difficult emotions, improving relationships, and building the life you want. My office is a place where you can be completely honest without fear of judgment. You'll develop greater self-awareness, learn to recognize early warning signs, and build confidence in your ability to navigate mental health challenges. Most importantly, you'll remember that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
