Great to meet you!

As a licensed clinical social worker, I believe therapy should meet you where you are while also helping you move toward where you want to be. I often compare therapy to going to the gym: it is dedicated time to strengthen the way you understand and respond to your thoughts, emotions, relationships and behaviors.

My approach is warm, direct and collaborative. You can expect empathy, compassion and acceptance, along with thoughtful questions and practical strategies that help you make meaningful changes. Your needs, experiences and goals will guide our work together.

I support adults and adolescents experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, addiction, relationship challenges and major life transitions. I also have experience working with concerns related to sexual orientation, identity, suicide prevention, family dynamics and professional stress.

You do not have to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. We can start with what is happening right now and work together from there.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is solution-focused, strengths-based and grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy. I believe people often come to therapy with more resilience, insight and ability than they realize, and part of my role is helping you recognize and build upon those strengths.

Together, we will look at how your thoughts, emotions and behaviors influence one another, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop practical strategies to help you move forward. I am supportive and compassionate, but I am also direct and engaged. I will ask thoughtful questions, offer honest feedback and help you translate insight into meaningful action.

Therapy with me is collaborative. We will focus on the concerns that matter most to you, establish realistic goals and regularly assess whether our work is helping you create the changes you want.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to begin building rapport and determine whether I am the right therapist for you. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship begins with feeling heard, understood and comfortable enough to be yourself.

We will talk about what brought you to therapy, what has been happening in your life and what you would like to be different. I may ask questions about your experiences, relationships, strengths and current challenges, but you will not be expected to share anything before you are ready.

You do not need to arrive with the perfect words or a fully developed set of goals. We will begin where you are, identify what feels most important and start developing a direction for our work together. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling supported, understood and hopeful about the work ahead.
