Great to meet you!

Hey there, I’m Dante, and welcome to my profile. A little bit about myself. I’m passionate about creating a safe, empathetic space where clients can feel understood and empowered on their journey to healing. With a warm sense of humor, I aim to bring lightness into our work together, helping you feel comfortable even when we’re navigating difficult topics. My approach combines careful confrontation with compassion, ensuring that we address challenging issues while always respecting your pace and boundaries.

I earned my Master’s in Counseling from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy. This academic foundation has equipped me with the skills to work with individuals, couples, and families, supporting them through life’s complexities and challenges.

As an African American therapist, my approach is deeply rooted in cultural humility, understanding that my clients’ identities and experiences shape their perspectives. I bring this lens into every session, recognizing the importance of honoring cultural backgrounds, histories, and the impact of systemic factors on mental health.

In our work together, I aim to provide not only a place of safety but also one where growth, healing, and transformation can happen at your pace. I’m here to support you on your journey with both professionalism and understanding, guided by empathy, humor, and a genuine commitment to your well-being.

My approach to therapy

My Approach to Therapy

I believe in creating a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore their experiences and begin their healing journey. I use a blend of therapeutic approaches tailored to each individual’s unique needs. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care, ensuring that all sessions prioritize safety, empowerment, and understanding.

I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients challenge negative thought patterns and develop healthier coping strategies. Through Motivational Interviewing, I work collaboratively with clients to explore their values and increase motivation for change. Additionally, I embrace a person-centered approach, offering a non-judgmental, empathetic space where clients feel heard and understood.

Specializing in trauma, I offer advanced interventions such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help process and heal from past traumatic experiences. My goal is to guide you towards a path of healing and growth, using a holistic, individualized approach that respects your pace and needs.

My therapy foundation is also rooted in grief and loss. Loss can be complicated, sudden, and can impact all senses of life. Grief and loss impacts us all, it does not discriminate, and my only goal is to help my clients begin there journey of healing.

What you can expect from me

In my practice, I believe that the best outcomes are achieved when the therapist and client work together as a team, creating a strong bond based on mutual trust and understanding. We collaborate to identify what healing looks like for you and what can be realistically attained. Each goal is a shared vision, shaped by your unique experiences and aspirations.

I utilize SMART goal development—specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals—to ensure that our work is both focused and purposeful. These goals are dynamic and evolve throughout the therapeutic process, always aligning with your deeper needs and values. By integrating both mind and body, we approach healing holistically, recognizing that true growth comes from addressing both mental and physical aspects. After all, as we know, the body keeps the score.

The environment of our sessions is thoughtfully designed to be a consistent, calm space—a place of peace, zen, and tranquility, where you can feel safe to explore, grow, and heal. It is also a space of growth, where we challenge old patterns and work toward meaningful change. Together, we’ll create a path to healing that fosters balance, resilience, and a renewed sense of well-being, so you can thrive mentally and physically.
