Great to meet you!

I have been a licensed professional counselor in Mississippi since 2016 and was certified in addiction counseling prior to that since 2008. I love working with a variety of ages and populations, but have worked primarily with adolescents, young adults, and adults.

I find great reward in guiding clients on their personal healing journey through whatever their struggles may be should they be related to trauma/stressor-related issues, anxiety, relationship/couples issues, ADHD and other types of struggles that interfere with optimal quality of life!

I utilize an integrated and individualized approach with only evidence-based, therapeutic modalities such as CBT/REBT, DBT, IFS, Motivational Interviewing and EMDR.

BUT...moving along to something a bit more about me...when embracing my own quality of life, it is usually with at least one of my three kids (17 boy, 19 boy, and 9 girl diva). Or spending time with my very cool, yet retired parents that also live close. A lot of SEC football and a lot of food is usually included and only the football is seasonal :)

Lastly, I would like to say I strongly believe in asking of others only what I would be willing to do myself or what I have done myself already. Integrity, respect, and humility are powerful principles I value.

My approach to therapy

My counseling style is compassionate and empathetic and I believe that each individual (YOU) is the only expert in the room on themselves!

You know you better than anybody! So with what you know, and what I have knowledge and training in, teamwork can jumpstart an amazing journey, specifically individualized for you and only you. With respect and appreciation for your individuality and uniqueness.

When my clients feel they have the tools, support, and newly instilled core beliefs needed to “dust off” life with the confidence...(not necessarily without struggle or difficulty)...but still with self-confidence and self-assurance to reach for what/who is needed...that is a therapeutic goal of mine. Hopefully, it is a goal of the client's. Because that is the goal that matters.

What you can expect from me

Hopefully, clients will leave a session with a sense of empowerment and encouragement to continue to be curious and confident in and about their inner and outer world. I expect clients to know they have been heard, understood, and are very much not alone.

Clients will also logistically know what the treatment/therapy plan of care is, including what methods we are utilizing, coping skills, resources, etc. There will be materials/apps/websites/videos/homework/etc. Knowledge is POWER! :)
