Great to meet you!

Dr. Darcy Holladay Ford is a licensed counselor and dietitian who specializes in working with individuals and families. She enjoys combining therapy styles to partner with her clients in the best way possible to tackle life's balancing act.

My approach to therapy

I believe that problems arise when one becomes out of touch with themselves and starts living life on autopilot. A person begins to react to life rather than taking action to shape it, and life can lose meaning and become more challenging to manage. This can feel like digging out of a hole with a small spoon. Pain can be part of life, but one does not need to suffer. We get caught up in a standard way of coping with emotional problems without really looking to see if these ways are beneficial. A single event often shakes a person to a state in which they realize they are not happy and have lost meaning in their life.

What you can expect from me

I use a mix of Existentialism and Cognitive Behavioral Theory in my practice. The first step is exploring the roots of current imbalances. From there, we develop healthy coping tools, implement nurturing behavior modifications, and develop a genuine understanding and softness for ourselves.
