Great to meet you!

Hi! I am D'Arion, I’m a therapist and the founder of Sincerely, your brain., LLC. My approach is rooted in warmth, authenticity, and creating a safe space where clients can truly be themselves.

I specialize in working with children through play therapy, supporting them in expressing emotions, building coping skills, and navigating life’s challenges in developmentally appropriate ways. In addition, I have a deep passion for supporting young women and college students as they transition into adulthood—navigating identity, independence, and all of the changes that come with this stage of life.

Right now, I’m also pursuing my doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision, which keeps me closely connected to both current research and the training of future counselors.

My specific areas of focus include:

  • Anxiety and stress management
  • Life transitions (student transitions, adulthood, career shifts)
  • Women’s mental health
  • Supporting Black women, Black teens, and communities of color with culturally responsive care

At the heart of my work is the belief that therapy should feel collaborative, empowering, and tailored to each person’s story. Whether we’re building play-based strategies for a child, or talking through the complex realities of being a Black woman navigating today’s world, I’m here to listen, support, and grow alongside you.

My approach to therapy

My therapy style is grounded in a humanistic, client-centered approach, which means I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you uncover your strengths, build new skills, and feel empowered to make meaningful changes.

I aim to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe exploring their thoughts and emotions. Sessions are collaborative and flexible—I meet clients where they are, while also challenging them in gentle ways to grow beyond what feels comfortable.

Some of my areas of focus include:

  • Play therapy with children, helping them express emotions and build coping strategies in a developmentally appropriate way
  • Life transitions, such as starting college, entering adulthood, or navigating career changes
  • Women’s mental health, with a special focus on supporting Black women and Black teens through culturally responsive and affirming care
  • Anxiety and stress management

At the core of my work is empowerment—I want each client to leave sessions feeling seen, understood, and capable of creating the life they want.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my priority is to build a genuine connection with you. I believe therapy works best when there’s trust, so I take time to get to know you as a person, not just your concerns. You can expect a welcoming, supportive space where you’re free to share at your own pace.

That said, I’m also intentional about assessment in the beginning. Asking thoughtful questions helps me understand your story, your goals, and the unique challenges you’re facing. These aren’t just clinical questions, they’re questions with soul, designed to give me insight into how I can best support you.

By the end of our first session, my hope is that you’ll feel:

  • Comfortable with the process and with me as your therapist
  • Heard and understood in what brought you to therapy
  • Clear on what goals we can begin working toward together

Most importantly, you’ll leave knowing that therapy is a collaborative journey—we’ll figure it out together, step by step.
