Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Darla, a licensed therapist in California. I help adults navigate anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, and stress. I often work with thoughtful, self-aware adults who feel stuck in recurring emotional or relationship patterns. You might already understand why you feel or react the way you do on an intellectual level, but bridging that gap to actual change still feels overwhelming or out of reach. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can slow down, gain clarity, and work toward meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, person-centered, and practical. I integrate psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing to help you explore the root patterns behind your thoughts, emotions, and relationships. I believe effective therapy balances depth with action, so while we make space for deeper exploration of your past and inner world, we also focus on hands-on problem-solving, building concrete tools, and actually implementing meaningful changes in your daily life.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll explore what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain. We’ll look at your history, current stressors, and strengths so we can collaboratively set clear treatment goals and ensure we’re a good fit. My goal is to walk alongside you as an authentic partner, bringing empathy and curiosity, while gently challenging the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
