Great to meet you!

Growing up is hard enough. It gets harder with conflict, instability, or substance use at home, and kids often learn to stay quiet so the adults don't have to worry. I'm Darlene, a licensed clinical social worker working with children, teens, and families navigating trauma. I have worked with individuals with substance use disorders, mental health challenges, and eating disorders. I offer telehealth across Massachusetts for kids, teens, and the families supporting them.

My approach to therapy

We start by naming what's actually going on, without judgment or rushing. I use Trauma Focused CBT, CBT, and a strength based approach to help your child build language for hard feelings, new tools for anger or anxiety, and a clearer sense of what is and isn't theirs to carry. I work closely with caregivers, so progress carries over at home.

What you can expect from me

If you're a parent watching your child struggle and aren't sure where to start, you don't need it figured out before reaching out. Many families I work with just know something isn't working and want a better way forward. We'll take it one step at a time, at your pace. I'd love to talk about what's going on and how I can help
