Great to meet you!

Seeking therapy is a courageous step, and I am grateful you are taking time to learn about my practice. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to create meaningful change. I work with adolescents, adults, veterans, and families who are navigating stress, major life transitions, emotional pain, or patterns that no longer serve them, and I walk alongside you at a pace that feels comfortable and sustainable. I am Mr. Darnell Phillips, MS, LPC, LCPC, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I have extensive experience in community mental health, crisis intervention, residential treatment, psychiatric hospitals, correctional behavioral health, and Assertive Community Treatment (ACT). I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, stress, grief, substance use, anger management, relationship concerns, and co occurring conditions.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your goals. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person Centered Therapy, trauma informed care, and strength based interventions. In our first session, we will explore what brings you to therapy, your history, strengths, and hopes. Together we will create a clear plan so you leave feeling understood, supported, and hopeful about your next steps.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, your personal history, current concerns, strengths, and the goals you'd like to achieve. I'll ask questions to better understand your experiences while providing a safe, supportive, and judgment free space where you can share at your own pace. Together, we'll identify priorities, discuss a treatment plan tailored to your needs, and answer any questions you may have about the therapy process. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the journey ahead.
