Great to meet you!

I am the kind of clinician who takes the extra time not only to help you feel safe in the therapeutic space we will be constructing together, but who will also challenge you to stretch beyond your comfort zone. I work largely with individuals who have an interest in learning more about themselves and the relationships they have with others. I also have a particular specialty in helping people develop a greater sense of emotional fluency; something that in many ways has become a lost art in today’s age of communication. As an emotion-focused, process-oriented, and client-centered therapist, I strive to meet my clients where they are in all aspects of their day to day functioning before helping them see what they could become. I am also an avid college football and professional hockey fan, a devoted husband, and proud dog father to our two Siberian huskies.

I am also a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida. I received my doctoral degree from the Florida Institute of Technology and completed my internship at the University of South Florida Counseling Center. I then went on to complete my post-doctoral fellowship with the Tampa Bay Center for Relational Psychology. Prior to that, I earned master’s degrees in clinical psychology from both the University of Central Florida and the Florida Institute of Technology. I also completed my bachelor’s degree at the University of Florida. Over my career, I have worked in college counseling centers, inpatient crisis units, substance abuse treatment centers, family counseling programs, autism treatment facilities, child assessment clinics, private practices, and community mental health centers.

If I sound like someone you could imagine being a good fit for you or a loved one, I would invite you to read more about my specialties and credentials below and then reach out to me directly to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation.

My approach to therapy

Anxiety

Anxiety is one of the most common concerns I hear. If you feel paralyzed by fears of failure, rejection, abandonment, or inadequacy, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to navigate those feelings alone. In counseling, we’ll explore what fuels your anxiety and develop ways to challenge and overcome those thoughts. My goal is to help you rebuild your confidence as we reshape your view of yourself, others, and the future.

Depression

After anxiety, depression is another frequent reason people seek therapy. Unfortunately, stigma can still prevent people from reaching out. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly about sadness, hopelessness, or lack of motivation. Together, we can find ways to restore a sense of hope, meaning, and belonging in your life.

Relationship Distress

I work with individuals, couples, and families, and many people come to therapy because something feels “off” in their relationships. Whether it’s broken trust, emotional disconnection, or fear of vulnerability, I help clients communicate more honestly, reconnect deeply, and create stronger, healthier bonds. It’s possible to heal old wounds and move forward with clarity and purpose.

Grief

Loss comes in many forms—death, breakups, illness, job changes—and every experience of grief is different. Even if you’ve faced loss before, the next one may hit harder. Using mindfulness and compassion, I help clients process grief, honor what’s been lost, and find a way to live with renewed strength and direction.

Trauma

Trauma leaves lasting wounds, even after the event has passed. Whether from violence, abuse, accidents, natural disasters, or combat, trauma can disrupt every part of life. But healing is possible. I offer a supportive environment where we work at your pace, using evidence-based tools to reduce pain and help you feel whole again.

What you can expect from me

When you work with me, you’ll find a space that’s both supportive and motivating—where you can feel at ease being yourself while also being encouraged to grow in new ways. I help people better understand themselves and their connections with others, especially when life feels overwhelming, uncertain, or emotionally out of sync. My style is collaborative and present-focused; I aim to connect with where you are now while guiding you toward meaningful, lasting change. Whether you’re navigating worry, sadness, past wounds, or difficulties in your relationships, I’ll be right there with you—helping you tap into your inner strength and rediscover clarity and confidence.
