Great to meet you!

As an LCSW in California since 1996. I have had the honor to work with those challenged mental health concerns, substance use and developmentally delays, at both non-profits and UCSF, Dept of Psych.

Time for Change Psychotherapy, is a solo private practice, providing talk therapy services with a foundation in motivational interviewing, CBT, mindfulness, harm reduction among other evidenced based practices. I believe that empathy, kindness, and respect are the essential ingredients

A bit about my approach to therapy

In my practice, I seek to join with the client to form a partnership by which the individual is able to identify the focus of change, identify their personal reasons and motivations for changing and develop a plan to get there. This approach empowers the individual, identifies the strengths and resources they already possess and respects the autonomy and wisdom within each person to make choices that are in their best interests.

What you can expect from our first session

Our work together will support and guide you in making positive life changes, learn new ways to understand and respond to stress and anxiety, and address problematic substance use and other unhealthy behaviors. All this, through a lens of self-compassion, with the goal of finding your way to the life you aspire to.
