Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with children, teens, young adults, adults, and families. I earned my graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University and have been working with clients since 2021.

I especially enjoy working with children and adolescents, including those navigating ADHD, autism, grief, family changes, and the challenges that come with growing up. I also work with young adults and adults experiencing grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, and significant life transitions.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than 20 years in the business world. That experience has given me a unique perspective on work, relationships, parenting, responsibility, and what it means to make difficult changes in your life.

I believe every person deserves to feel known, valued, and hopeful about what comes next. That belief is at the heart of my work as a therapist.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, relational, and practical. I want therapy to be a place where you can be yourself without feeling judged or pressured to have everything figured out.

I spend a lot of time listening and getting to know the person in front of me—not simply a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. Depending on your needs, our work might involve developing practical skills, understanding patterns in your life and relationships, processing grief or trauma, or simply creating enough safety and space to talk honestly about something difficult.

With children and teens, I use developmentally appropriate approaches that may include conversation, play, activities, humor, and skill-building. I also believe parents can be an important part of the process while respecting the trust and confidentiality necessary for a young person to feel safe in therapy.

I don’t believe change always happens quickly or in a straight line. Sometimes progress begins simply by having a place where you feel understood. From there, we work together toward meaningful and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really about getting to know each other. I’ll want to understand what brought you to therapy, what has been happening in your life, what you would like to be different, and what you hope to gain from our work together.

You won’t need to arrive with the perfect explanation of what’s wrong or a neatly organized list of goals. We’ll figure that out together. I’ll ask questions, but there will also be plenty of room for you to tell your story at your own pace.

When I’m working with a child or teen, I also spend time understanding the parents’ concerns while beginning to build a relationship with the young person. I want both the child and the parents to understand how therapy will work and what they can expect from me.

Most importantly, I want you to leave that first meeting feeling heard, comfortable, and hopeful that you’ve found someone you can work with.
