WeIcome! My name is David Gerrit and I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent more than 12 years working in healthcare as both an emergency department radiologic technologist and a registered nurse. Those experiences taught me the importance of listening carefully, building trust, and treating each person with compassion and respect.

I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and evidence-based medication management for children, adolescents, and adults. I treat a wide range of conditions, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, trauma-related disorders, and other mental health concerns. My approach is collaborative and individualized—I believe the best treatment plans are developed together, with careful attention to each person's goals, lifestyle, and overall well-being.

My goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where patients feel heard, understood, and supported while working toward lasting improvements in their mental health.

I provide collaborative, evidence-based psychiatric care with an emphasis on listening, education, and shared decision-making. I take the time to understand each patient's unique experiences and goals so we can develop an individualized treatment plan together. My focus is on thoughtful medication management, open communication, and helping patients achieve meaningful, long-term improvement.

During your first appointment, we'll take the time to get to know each other and discuss what brings you to treatment. We'll review your current symptoms, mental health history, medical history, medications, family history, and any previous treatment experiences. I'll also ask about your daily life, relationships, work or school, and your goals for treatment so I can gain a complete understanding of your unique situation.

Together, we'll discuss potential diagnoses, answer any questions you may have, and develop an individualized treatment plan. If medication is appropriate, we'll review the available options, including the benefits, potential side effects, and what you can expect moving forward. My goal is for you to leave your first appointment feeling heard, informed, and confident in the plan we've created together.
