Great to meet you!

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist and completed my doctoral training in clinical psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Prior to this I received a masters in counseling psychology at The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. I also hold a bachelor of arts in music and visual art. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety and depression, obsessive/compulsive tendencies, interpersonal conflicts and struggles with relationships, addictions, and those with histories of emotional, verbal, physical or sexual abuse and harm. My psychological training and experience within Chicago has allowed me to work with a varied span of children, adolescents, adults and couples. I’ve worked in numerous hospitals, schools and therapy clinics throughout the city which has informed me to see and interact with clients using a multicultural, multi-perspective lens.

My approach to therapy

I work well with most people, and I have learned that individuals who identify themselves as a “creative” or “highly sensitive” type find my approach to therapy approachable and genuine. I believe within all of us is an impulse to “push through” the hang-ups in our lives that keep us from being or becoming what we desire to be. Part of my work as a therapist is to assist in exploring new ways and thoughts of being a person. I provide a safe, encouraging place to be creative in thinking about these new possibilities, keep post while one tries them out, and assist in taking the new trajectory that “works”. I must follow what the client communicates to me in this pursuit of their desires. As a therapist, I am not an authority of a client’s experience; yet because of my training, I might see the path toward one’s goals in a different way. This relationship is what I believe to be the heart of therapy. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety and depression, obsessive/compulsive tendencies, interpersonal conflicts and struggles with relationships, addictions, and those with histories of emotional, verbal, physical or sexual abuse and harm.
