Great to meet you!

David is a Licensed Professional Counselor with Harmony CDC. He earned his undergraduate degree in Christian Ministries and Biblical Literature from Indiana Wesleyan University, followed by a Master of Divinity from Anderson University School of Theology. He later completed a Master of Arts in School Counseling and Professional Counseling at Amberton University.

David enjoys working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and all walks of life, supporting clients who present with a wide range of concerns. He takes a collaborative, client‐centered approach to counseling, recognizing that each person brings inherent strengths and resources into the therapeutic process. For clients who desire it, David thoughtfully integrates psychological principles with theological reflection in a respectful and individualized manner.

David particularly enjoys working with individuals seeking guidance, clarity, and comfort as they navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, anger and stress management, and spiritual concerns.

My approach to therapy

David’s approach to therapy is warm, empathic, and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on creating a welcoming and safe space where clients feel heard and respected. He values active listening and works alongside clients to understand their concerns, goals, and strengths. David integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and T‐Schema–informed interventions to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, core beliefs, and relational schemas, while thoughtfully exploring how past experiences may be influencing present challenges. Treatment is tailored, practical, and compassionate, supporting clients in developing insight, resilience, and meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

In an initial counseling session with David, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive environment centered on empathy and attentive listening. David’s priority is to help clients feel comfortable, understood, and respected as they share their story at their own pace. The first session focuses on getting to know the client, identifying what brings them to counseling, and collaborating on goals—without pressure or judgment—while establishing a safe foundation for the work ahead.
