Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm so glad you're here. My name is David. I'm a licensed clinical social worker. I've been working in community mental health for the last eight years, prior to which I worked in the child welfare system, specifically youth in foster care. I have extensive work history in program design and development for children/adolescents and residential summer camp programming. My passion has always been working with people whether it be kids at summer camp, children in foster care, or young adults/adults/ and seniors navigating life challenges in today's constantly evolving world.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is to create an atmosphere of collaboration, trust, and respect. Therapy is a collaborative process. Together, we'll explore understanding your past, deal with present issues, and prepare for the future. We'll talk through feelings and develop tools and strategies to increase effective coping.

What you can expect from me

Early on in therapy, just feeling heard, understood, and not judged can be incredibly powerful. Clients may begin to feel less alone and more grounded after sessions. Clients will walk away with a better understanding of themselves, their emotions, and their patterns of thought that can help them connect the dots between past experiences and present challenges. Clients can expect to learn strategies to manage stress, anxiety, depression or other symptoms more effectively in their day-to-day lives. With ongoing sessions many clients report increased self-confidence, improved boundaries, and a more solid connection to who they are and what they value.
