I have worked in the mental health filed for over 40 years in a many different capacities and settings. I have worked on in-patient units as a mental health worker for a number of years prior to completing my masters degree in social work. I have been independently licensed for thirteen years and have been an outpatient clinician for fifteenth years. I have experience in assessment and referral in a hospital emergency room as well as experience in a community mental health center.

In my practice integrate different modalities and approaches to treatment including psychodynamic, acceptance and commitment CBT, strenght based and recovery models. I find 12 step meetings very help in coping with recovery and I attend Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional families and Al-anon on a regular basis. ACA is very helpful in addressing adverse childhood experiences and I encourage clients who have had these experiences to attend these meetings as well as individual treatment. We are all in some type of recovery and accepting this reality is the first step.

On occasion I will disclose personal information only if it's in the interest of the client, for example how I have coped with loss and grief in my own life.

My first session with clients is informational as well as experiential as we get a sense of each other to see if we can work together. I welcome questions regard my professional experience, education and interests.
