Great to meet you!

My 40+ year career began with a doctor's degree in psychology from Cornell University. In addition to therapy, I served on the faculties of Cornell, Princeton, and Harvard Medical School. 20 years later I earned my second degree as a specialist in psychotherapy for individuals and couples. My clients quickly become hopeful, confident, and successful because I help them to create real solutions instead of dragging them through the time, expense, and discomfort of analyzing problems.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I achieve very rapid results by identifying your strengths, not your shortcomings. From there, it requires little effort to revive or create working solutions, without the need for the many depressing sessions found elsewhere that psychoanalyze, evaluate, diagnose, or medicate people as though they were mentally ill. Mental illness is quite rare; rough patches in life are very common, and solutions for them are easily discovered and overcome by deploying the strengths you already possess.

What you can expect from our first session

What you should not expect are frequent inane questions like, "How did that make you feel?" What you should expect are rapid and enduring solutions that will make today's problems quickly lose power, then vanish forever. What you will discover is that creating solutions is much quicker, more hopeful, and less costly that spending interminable hours analyzing the roots of problems. Remember, no one has the power to change the past, but you have 100% of the power needed to change your future.
