Great to meet you!

For 18 years I was the chief psychologist at colleges and universities, most recently Cornell and Rochester Institute of Technology. I have worked with young adults and emerging professionals from all over the world, during remarkably challenging times of transition. I pursue this work from a genuine interest in other people's stories and the inspiring way we overcome challenges.

While this profile is a lot about me and my background, the work is about you and the process.

My approach to therapy

In our work together, I will not ask you to complete worksheets, talk about breathing or the importance of mindfulness. In fact, we are unlikely to talk about many things you can easily find through a Google search or our AI friends. Instead, I will ask questions to learn about you, explore various parts of yourself, your history, and the relationship between them. The symptoms that we are feeling and the barriers we face are often rooted to those very relationships we will explore.

What you can expect from me

Therapy can of course be a tough process, but at the same time, my approach includes plenty humor and open, light-hearted conversation. One of the reasons I enjoy this work is that we are not treating a list of symptoms, we are working to identify and remove barriers that are in the way.

I welcome the opportunity to meet you and for us to develop a process to move forward.
