Great to meet you!

As a resident of Kerrville, I’ve seen firsthand the impact that trauma can have on a community—especially in times of crisis like the recent Hill Country flooding. My wife, a former EMT who responded to the 1987 flood, has also shaped my understanding of what people experience in the aftermath of these events. That perspective has deeply influenced how I show up for clients.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in Texas, with experience working with combat veterans, law enforcement personnel, and individuals navigating high-stress or traumatic life experiences. I’ve worked extensively in co-occurring disorder settings, supporting individuals facing both mental health and substance use challenges. My goal is to provide a space where you feel understood, respected, and supported—whether you're dealing with trauma, life transitions, or ongoing mental health concerns.

My approach to therapy

My approach is flexible, collaborative, and tailored to each individual. I draw from a range of evidence-based and person-centered modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, the Minnesota Model, and other eclectic approaches depending on what best fits your needs. At the core of my work is the belief that each person’s experience is unique. I focus on helping clients build practical coping skills, gain insight into their thoughts and behaviors, and develop a stronger sense of meaning and direction in their lives. Whether you're working through trauma, addiction, relationship challenges, or life stressors, I aim to meet you where you are and help you move forward in a way that feels manageable and empowering.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a relaxed, conversational space where we begin to understand what’s bringing you in and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out—this is simply a starting point. We’ll talk through your current concerns, any relevant background, and begin identifying goals that feel meaningful to you. I’ll also answer any questions you have about the process so you feel comfortable moving forward.

My goal in that first meeting is for you to feel heard, respected, and at ease—like you’re talking with someone who genuinely understands and is there to support you. From there, we can begin building a plan that fits your needs, whether that’s short-term guidance or longer-term support.
