I have been practicing in Los Angeles since 2007 & have worked with clients & families from diverse cultural backgrounds & throughout our spectrum of gender, sexuality& relationships. I have also worked with individuals across the neurological, physical & developmental spectrum.
I originally began my experience as a Children’s Social Worker within Child Protective Services for Los Angeles County, where I gained experience in crisis intervention, family reunification, preservation, adoption and the legal system. I treated those affected by social issues, such as disruption in the home, family conflict, mental illness, substance/alcohol abuse, HIV/AIDS, child abuse & neglect, domestic violence/intimate partner violence, poverty and homelessness.
I later continued my experience as a Medical Social Worker at Los Angeles General Medical Center, in the Emergency Room and later the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, where I gained experience in crisis intervention, treatment planning, short term psychotherapy, palliative/end of life care, patient advocacy, and providing provides direct practice to patients and their families experiencing complex medical and psychosocial stressors such as medical trauma, violence/assault, adjustment to illness/injury, death/end-of-life/coping with loss, mental illness, substance/alcohol abuse, HIV/AIDS, child/elder/dependent abuse, domestic violence/intimate partner violence, geriatrics, obstetrics, and homelessness.
My specialties include grief & loss, family conflict, emotional abuse, couples counseling, depression, anxiety, PTSD, identity, adjustment to life transitions.
