Great to meet you!

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with a Master of Social Work from Washington University (2004) with 22 years of master-level practice experience. While I’ve held a variety of roles caring for people’s emotional health across clinical and community settings, my current specialty is helping adolescents and adults overcome anxiety and stress—whether related to work, relationships, health concerns, or situational crises.

My approach to therapy

My approach is client-centered and eclectic, integrating evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills for emotion regulation and distress tolerance, and mindfulness and grounding techniques to reduce physiological reactivity. In sessions you can expect a warm, collaborative atmosphere, clear, measurable goals, practical tools and homework to build skills between meetings, and ongoing assessment to tailor strategies so therapy remains relevant and effective.

What you can expect from me

In your first session you can expect a warm, confidential, and collaborative meeting where we’ll spend time getting to know you and your current concerns: I’ll ask about your symptoms, history, strengths, supports, and any prior treatment to understand what’s been helpful or not. We’ll review confidentiality, paperwork, and any practical details (session length, fees, cancellations), conduct a brief assessment to identify immediate needs or safety concerns, and begin to define clear, achievable goals together. By the end of the session we’ll agree on next steps—whether that’s a treatment plan, specific coping strategies to try between sessions, or referrals—and you’ll have the chance to ask questions so you feel comfortable moving forward.
