Great to meet you!

Good to meet you. Life can feel overwhelming and confusing. I'll help you navigate the challenges while you gain deeper understanding and insights in yourself. You'll feel supported, accepted and safe in exploring patterns, life history, and strengths while learning new coping strategies and gaining self-confidence. Clients describe me as warm, calming, insightful and compassionate. I have my MSW and many years of professional experience as a licensed psychotherapist, working with stress, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief and loss, women's issues, LGBTIQ concerns. I have been where you are and know what it takes to make change though the personal growth work you are about to begin. Let's partner together for your wellbeing.

My approach to therapy

My style of therapy emphasizes creating a sense of safety and respect and openness for the client while also being compassionately curious and interactive. I regard myself and the client as partners. I actively participate in the client's self-exploration and self-discovery process, through observations, questions and suggestions. I'll provide activities for self-reflection, learning of new skills, and gaining greater self-awareness. I think it's valuable to learn one's patterns in decision making and choices, "connecting the dots", on the path to making healthy changes.

What you can expect from me

In the first session I'll give you the opportunity to share what brings you into therapy, what your goals are, and your expectations of therapy. I'll share how I work, what I ask of you as a client and will answer any questions you might have. At the conclusion of the first session, I'll be interested in hearing what you thought of the session and if you want to continue working with me, in an atmosphere of openness to help you understand what you need from therapy.
