Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Dawn, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I am a retired public school educator with over 30+ years experience as a teacher, administrator, counselor and encourager. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with clients facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting struggles, ADHD, OCD, and low self-esteem. I also support individuals navigating life transitions, grief, or discontent. My goal is to help you rediscover your strengths and develop strategies to overcome obstacles in your life.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My counseling style is fully engaged and interactive. I am sensitive and compassionate when the situation calls for it, but I also believe in the importance of challenging you to foster growth. I don't believe in simply telling you what you want to hear; instead, I strive to work collaboratively with you to find solutions that make sense for your unique situation. My approach is eclectic, blending Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a humanistic, solution-focused perspective. I firmly believe that there is no 'one size fits all' in therapy, and each client deserves a tailored approach that addresses their specific needs.

What you can expect from our first session

I understand that it takes courage to ask for help, and I deeply respect that. I believe the world would be a better place if everyone had the opportunity to sit down and talk through their life's situations, developing strategies to change what they do not like. I'm here to be that person for you, to support you in your journey towards positive change and personal growth.

If you're ready to take the next step, I'm here to help. Let's work together to navigate your challenges and achieve your goals. I look forward to meeting you and embarking on this journey together.
