Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Dawn. I work with adults, parents, couples, and families—including parents and their adult children—who want to better understand themselves and the patterns that shape their relationships. You may know why you respond the way you do but still find yourself falling into the same reactions, roles, or relationship dynamics. Therapy can be a place to slow those patterns down, connect the dots, and explore what you want to do differently.

I especially enjoy working with LGBTQ+ clients, parents, people navigating family-of-origin dynamics, and those moving through transitions or new chapters in their lives.

My approach to therapy

My approach is relational, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I draw from family systems, psychodynamic, narrative, and attachment-based approaches, as well as EMDR, depending on what fits you and what brings you to therapy.

I’m interested not only in what’s happening now, but also in how earlier experiences, family relationships, and the roles you learned to take on may continue to show up in your life today. Together, we might notice patterns, get curious about where they came from, and explore which ones still serve you and which ones you’re ready to change.

I don’t believe therapy is about someone else telling you how to live your life. I see it as a space where we can be curious together and make room for more than one thing to be true.

What you can expect from me

You can expect our sessions to feel conversational, thoughtful, and collaborative. I’ll ask questions, notice patterns, offer observations, and sometimes gently challenge you to look at something from a different angle.

You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about or having everything figured out. We can start with what is happening in your life right now and go from there.

My hope is that therapy helps you understand yourself with greater clarity, recognize your patterns sooner, and have more choice in how you respond when old reactions get activated.
