Dawn Marie Smith

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have dedicated over 25 years to the counseling and education fields, working extensively with children and their families. For the past 18 years, I have served as a school social worker, and for 12 of those years, I have also been the supervisor of the special education department of my school district. My experience has given me deep insight into the challenges children and families face, allowing me to provide compassionate and effective support.

I believe in working collaboratively with children and their families to help them navigate difficult situations. By incorporating techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and play therapy, I create a supportive and developmentally appropriate space for children to express themselves, build coping skills, and foster emotional growth.

I provide a safe, supportive environment where clients can be open and honest as we work through whatever challenges they are facing. My goal is to help clients gain clarity, develop effective strategies, and feel empowered to make progress. At the end of each session, I ensure they leave with practical tools or insights they can apply in the week ahead, fostering growth and continuity between our meetings.
