Great to meet you!

I want my clients to know that I believe healing happens through collaboration, trust, and compassion—not judgment. My goal is to create a safe, respectful space where you feel heard, understood, and actively involved in your care.

As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), with over 25 years of nursing experience in acute care settings, I provide evidence-based, person-centered care for individuals experiencing mental health and substance use concerns. I recognize that every person's story is unique, and I take the time to understand your experiences, strengths, values, and goals before developing an individualized treatment plan together.

I believe that medication is only one piece of treatment. When appropriate, I also incorporate education, supportive therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) principles, harm reduction, lifestyle interventions, and coordination with other members of your care team to support your overall well-being.

My role is not to judge your past, but to help you build the future you want. Whether you're seeking care for anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, ADHD, substance use, or another concern, I am committed to providing honest guidance, evidence-based recommendations, and a therapeutic relationship built on mutual respect. I encourage questions, welcome open communication, and want you to feel empowered to participate in decisions about your care.

Together, we'll focus on helping you achieve meaningful, lasting improvements in your mental health and quality of life.

My approach to therapy

I believe that the best care begins with listening. Every person has a unique story, and my role is to understand not only your symptoms, but also your experiences, strengths, values, and goals. I strive to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where you feel safe discussing even the most difficult parts of your life.

My approach is collaborative, person-centered, and evidence-based. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan that reflects your needs, preferences, and stage of life. I view you as the expert on your own experiences, and I believe that shared decision-making leads to better outcomes and a stronger therapeutic relationship.

When appropriate, treatment may include medication management, supportive psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, lifestyle modifications, and coordination with other healthcare providers. For individuals experiencing substance use disorders, I incorporate harm reduction principles while supporting each person's own recovery goals, recognizing that recovery is not a linear process and looks different for everyone.

I believe in treating the whole person—not just a diagnosis. Mental health is influenced by physical health, relationships, trauma, culture, work, sleep, nutrition, and many other aspects of life. By considering these factors together, we can develop practical, sustainable strategies that promote long-term wellness rather than simply managing symptoms.

Above all, my goal is to provide compassionate, respectful care that empowers you to better understand your mental health, build resilience, and make meaningful progress toward the life you want to live.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a collaborative treatment plan. My goal is to create a comfortable, supportive environment where you feel heard, respected, and never judged.

During this comprehensive evaluation, we'll spend time discussing what brought you to treatment, your current symptoms, your medical and mental health history, any previous treatment you've received, medications, substance use (if applicable), family history, and the life experiences that may be impacting your well-being today. We'll also talk about your strengths, support system, personal goals, and what you hope to achieve through treatment.

I believe that understanding the whole person—not just the symptoms—is essential to providing effective care. I take the time to ask thoughtful questions, listen carefully, and ensure that you have the opportunity to share your concerns and ask questions throughout the appointment.

By the end of your visit, we'll review my clinical impressions, discuss potential diagnoses (when appropriate), and develop an individualized treatment plan together. This may include medication recommendations, therapy recommendations, lifestyle interventions, additional diagnostic workup, referrals, or other evidence-based treatment options. You'll have the opportunity to participate in every decision, and we'll discuss the benefits, risks, and alternatives of any recommended treatment.

My goal is for you to leave your first appointment with a clear understanding of the next steps and a treatment plan that aligns with your needs, values, and goals. Whether you're seeking support for a new concern or have been navigating mental health challenges for years, I am committed to partnering with you every step of the way.
