Great to meet you!

My name is Dr. Dawn M. Robinson (Dr. Dawn) and I am a nationally recognized Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 25 years of experience helping people navigate life challenges. As the founder of The Oasis Institute for Holistic Health and Wellness, I provide culturally responsive counseling for children, adolescents, adults, and communities across the African diaspora and beyond. I look at the whole person—mind, body, spirit, and lived experience. I adapt my approach to fit each stage of life, utilizing therapeutic play techniques to help youth express themselves, alongside somatic tools like yoga, breathwork, and mindfulness to help adults ground their nervous systems. I empower individuals, communities, and organizations to cultivate whole-person wellness and thrive!

My approach to therapy

I utilize an ecological lens to understand individuals throughout the life span, integrating this framework with CBT and Adlerian therapies alongside experiential mind-body and play practices so that every client is empowered to build resilience and well-being

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to connect and start mapping out your path forward. Together, we will discuss what brings you to therapy, look at the broader environment shaping your life, and explore your goals for healing and growth. There is no pressure to have everything figured out. Our main focus will be establishing a strong collaborative partnership, ensuring you feel heard, valued, and deeply cared for from day one.
